Good Music

This is simply good music. Music is a very important part of my life. I enjoy a wider than typical variety of music. I really like to listen to music in my free time. Although most of my music is digital - on my computer- I have a pretty extensive collection of vinyl. There is just something about listening to a vinyl record that you don't get with a cd or other digital media. The music is much fuller on vinyl. For example, I picked up a Conway Twitty record that had never been opened. The first time I listened to it, I was simply amazed with the quality. The only problem with vinyl is that even a small scratch takes away from the quality. At the beginning of this post, I did not think I was going to write about vinyl records. Oh well. I hope you enjoy the music.

Home Design

In my graduation post, I mentioned that I used to work with my brothers at Legacy Design Group. It was a fun time for me. These two pictures cover both ends of the spectrum of homes that I designed. The first is my current home. I designed and built it earlier this year. It is a 2150 square feet two-story home. The latter is a ski-in ski-out 12,000+ square feet lodge. It is definetely the largest home I designed. More information about that home can be seen by clicking this link. My stint in the world of home design lasted about 3.5 years. It was a lot of fun, but I needed to move on. Continually looking forward to new opportunities will be a recurring theme in this blog.

Graduation

I graduated from Utah Valley University in April 2008 with a BS in Accounting. It was not an easy journey. I actually dropped out of school to persue a career in custom home design.
My older brother trained my younger brother and me in the art of home design. He owns a small home design company called Legacy Design Group. More information about his company can be found at legacyhomedesign.com. I would say more, but opt to save the details for later entries.
I left the design company for an entry-level accounting position at HealthEquiy, Inc. I worked full-time during the day, and carried a full load of classes in the evenings. I did not take a break in the summer as my goal was to finish as soon as possible to pursue a career in accounting.
Now that I have graduated, I received a promotion at HealthEquity, Inc. and everything is going well for me there. Even though I have graduated and seem to have settled into my current position, I am not done yet. I am not the type to settle into a single career track. Graduating was not the end for me. It is just the beginning.

Welcome to My Life

The purpose of this blog is to showcase my hobbies and interests. The title is "Jack of All Trades" because I relish the opportunity to learn new things. The "Master of None" represents the idea that my ability to learn new things usually produces no more than mediocre results. I'm okay with that, though. I have a lot of fun with my hobbies.

I invite you all to follow me through my wonderful world of trial and error. I will update this blog frequently with my adventures.
